This superb ,large format reference work by Caroline Crabtree and Pam Stallebras offers 200 pages crammed with superb photographs, plus informative captions and excellent general text. Covers Africa, the Americas, Asia, Oceania, the Arabian Gulf and Europe, with examples from each region and notes on bead manufacturing centres and construction and techniques. The primary focus is on Africa, Asia and South America and a wide range of sub tribes is presented in these sections – e.g. Zulu. Xhosa, Ndebele, Ovambo, Tsonga East Africa, Cameroon, Yoruba and North Africa in the African section. This is my favourite general tribal beadwork reference, and I’d never part with my personal copy.Tight clean copy, with just a little light shelf wear of the dust jacket top and bottom.
