Fine old Nepalese kukri in a superbly carved antique scabbard (SFS)

This is an everyday working knife with a heavy blade and a magnificent scabbard from rural Nepal. It is the same curved shape as the famous kukris of the Nepalese Ghurkas and is the generic knife of the region, used for every purpose form chopping to self defence. This knife blade is well used and the utilitarian wooden handle is possibly a replacement (once damaged the handle must be replaced in order to hold the knife effectively) . The real attraction is not the knife but the wonderfully carved antique wooden scabbard with its metal bindings. Note that both sides of the ornate scabbard are carved differently. Length of knife in scabbard (around the curve) 41 cm/16 inches
