 | The classic Maasai collar necklace of marriage in the style and colours worn in the 19650s and 60s. The leather beaded collar has a large beaded tab worn at the neck with six long streamers of beads attached to it. The age of the piece is evident form the patina of the leather at the back. Collar and tab 26 cm, / 10 ¼ inches long, streamers 53 cm/ 21 inches long.This old piece was purchased by a US Peace Corps volunteer (remember them?) in the1960s.
